Question strategy
What should you ask?
Good early questions divide the animal world into large groups. Once you have a direction, ask about distinctive traits and save direct guesses until the field is smaller.
“Does it live mostly in water?”
Habitat questions quickly eliminate many possibilities.
“Is it a mammal?”
Animal families and body types can narrow the search dramatically.
“Does it have stripes?”
Color, coverings, limbs, and other physical clues are useful later.
“Hint”
If you get stuck, type hint and the game will reveal another clue.

You do. Unlike many 20 Questions games, the computer chooses the mystery animal and you try to identify it.
Can I ask any question?
The game works best with a single yes-or-no question about the animal. Ask about traits, habitat, diet, behavior, or make a direct animal guess.
Does a language model generate every answer?
No. The live game primarily uses a curated animal-fact dataset and purpose-built matching logic, so answers are grounded in maintained facts instead of being improvised from scratch. If no verified animal fact is found, the game can use an LLM as a fallback.
What happens after question 20?
If you have not solved it, the game reveals the mystery animal and starts a fresh round.
